This September, ARP OOD officially began the process of obtaining an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for its fire-resistant and multifunctional steel doors.
An EPD is an internationally recognised certificate that provides transparent, verified information about the environmental impact of a product throughout its entire life cycle – from raw materials and production, through use, to recycling or disposal. Often called the “green passport” of a product, it allows architects, engineers, and builders to make informed choices and meet the growing sustainability requirements in modern construction.
The certification of ARP products will be carried out by ift Rosenheim Hellas, a subsidiary of the renowned German institute ift Rosenheim, one of Europe’s most respected testing and certification bodies for building products. The institute is known worldwide for its high standards, scientific expertise, and rigorous testing procedures, which give its certifications exceptional weight and credibility across the construction sector.
By undertaking this certification, ARP reaffirms its commitment to sustainable production and responsible business practices. Our doors are already manufactured with certified EU materials, powered by renewable solar energy from our own photovoltaic plant, supported by energy-efficient LED lighting and paperless digital processes. EPD certification through ift Rosenheim Hellas will make these efforts visible, measurable, and internationally recognised.
Once completed, the EPD will enable ARP products to contribute directly to green building standards such as BREEAM, LEED и DGNB and support our partners in achieving higher environmental goals across the European construction sector.
At ARP, we believe that responsibility towards the environment goes hand in hand with innovation, safety, and quality. Beginning the EPD certification process with ift Rosenheim Hellas marks another important step in our long-term mission to deliver doors that not only protect lives and buildings, but also contribute to a more sustainable future.
